I had a few thoughts today but one stands out at the forefront of my mind and it may well change the world. It's actually a discovery really...and here it is...I believe R2D2 to be the first USB device developed. I mean think about it...he was compatible with just about everything from starships, to cities in the clouds, to death stars, and even shield generating stations. Just as usb functions on PCs, macs, tvs, cameras and who knows what else.Now there were times when R2 got confused about power outlets vs. data ports, but in his defense he was ahead of his time, as many of our USB devices now provide power.

And also, let's be honest, R2 was pretty much the unsung hero of every single star wars episode from front to back, and haven't you ever said "Oh thank goodness, there's a USB port! Think flash drives, extrememly useful, and you should have one everywhere you go, just like R2D2. He was even able to utilize digital projection technology.

Is there a system that R2 can't work with?! I mean seriously, we have to have different electrical plugs from one country to the next, but in Star Wars, good old R2 can plug in ANYWHERE anytime, no need to convert, update, or install, he's ready to go. For a system that was developed a long time ago in a galaxy far away, I'm jealous of truly universal plugs. Must be nice.
